Translation notes:
Just my own thoughts, but I think the butterfly metaphorically refers to the speaker's unrequited love. And the speaker is the moth on the other hand. I say "speaker" because I read somewhere that karma's lyrics are written in the perspective of a girl, so these are not necessarily karma's own feelings. Also, the lyrics do not directly say "you" anywhere in the song, but I assume that the person the speaker felt hatred and jealousy towards was her "unrequited love", who was more perfect and beautiful than her and made her feel imperfect.
